When is the next shop update?
New work is usually added to the shop in monthly shop updates. The date and time of the next update will be announced on Instagram and through my newsletter.
Some pieces are one of a kind, while others are made in very small batches.
Are all pieces handmade?
Yes. Every piece is made by hand by me in my studio in Vorden, The Netherlands.
Because everything is handmade, small differences in shape, size, glaze, colour and surface are completely normal. They are part of what makes each piece unique.
Will I receive the exact piece shown in the photos?
Yes. You will receive the exact piece shown in the product photos.
Every item is photographed individually, so the piece you choose is the piece that will be packed and sent to you.
If I ever offer a small set of nearly identical pieces where one is selected at random, this will always be stated very clearly in the product description.
Are the ceramics food safe?
Yes. Pieces intended for food and drinks are made with food safe glazes and fired to stoneware temperatures.
If a piece is decorative only, this will be clearly mentioned in the product description.
Can my pottery go in the dishwasher?
Yes, my functional ceramics are dishwasher safe.
Hand washing is gentler and may help keep the glaze looking its best for as long as possible, but using the dishwasher is absolutely fine.
Can I use the ceramics in the microwave?
I recommend avoiding the microwave.
My ceramics have not been specifically tested for repeated microwave use, so I prefer to recommend the safer option.
Can the ceramics go in the oven?
I generally recommend using my ceramics for serving and everyday eating and drinking rather than for cooking or baking in the oven.
Sudden temperature changes can cause thermal shock, so please avoid moving ceramics directly between very hot and very cold environments.
Do you make custom orders?
Yes, I occasionally take custom orders.
If you have a particular glaze, colour combination or type of piece in mind, you are welcome to contact me at info@therainbowpotter.com or send me a message on Instagram.
Custom work is made especially for you and may therefore be excluded from the standard right of withdrawal. Please see the Return & Refund Policy for more information.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. I ship from The Netherlands to customers in many countries around the world.
Available destinations and shipping prices are shown during checkout.
For more information about delivery times, customs and international shipping, please see the Shipping Policy.
Will I have to pay import duties or taxes?
Orders sent outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, taxes or handling fees charged by your country.
These charges are determined by local customs authorities and, unless stated otherwise during checkout, are the responsibility of the recipient.
How long will my order take to ship?
Orders are normally prepared within a few business days.
You will receive a shipping confirmation when your package is on its way. Delivery time depends on your destination.
More detailed estimates can be found in the Shipping Policy.
Will I receive tracking?
Tracking information is provided where available and will be included in your shipping confirmation.
What happens if my pottery arrives damaged?
Please contact me as soon as possible at info@therainbowpotter.com.
Include your order number and clear photos of the damaged piece, the box and the packaging. Please keep all packaging while we sort it out.
I pack every order very carefully, but ceramics are fragile and accidents can occasionally happen in transit.
Can I return an item?
Yes. For regular shop purchases, consumers in the European Union generally have a 14 day right of withdrawal.
Custom and personalised pieces may be excluded.
Please see the Return & Refund Policy for the complete conditions and instructions before returning anything.
Can I combine two separate orders?
Sometimes.
If you place two orders close together and I have not packed them yet, feel free to contact me and I will see whether they can be combined.
I cannot guarantee that combining orders will always be possible.
Can I buy a piece that is already sold out?
Most of my work is made in small batches or as one of a kind pieces, so a sold out piece may not return in exactly the same form.
Similar shapes, glazes and colour combinations often return in future shop updates.
If there is something specific you love, you can always contact me to ask about a custom order.
How can I hear about new pieces?
The best places are Instagram and my newsletter.
I share new work, shop update dates, previews and studio news there before each collection goes live.
